At Cheryl’s the best place to stay at in Cape Town

In the past I have written a few articles on my favourite place to stay on holiday. And that is At Cheryl’s in Table View, Cape Town. Checking traffic through my own blog recently I saw that an article on At Cheryl’s dated April 2007 had actually been found by somebody searching for ‘best place to stay in Cape Town’.

Of course not everybody would consider this their best place. Those folk who enjoy soulless five star service where everybody smiles ingratiatingly in the hope that they will get a huge tip, will not want to stay At Cheryl’s.

There the smiles are genuine and the name is remembered for all times and no tip is expected. Of course it isn’t five star accommodation in that there are not five different bars, restaurants, heated indoor swimming pool and sauna available to the visitor.

What is available instead is scrupulously clean space, comfortable home living  and if you bring your pet, your pet is almost more fussed over than you are. And you will be remembered as all the other many repeat visitors are, as part of the family.

As for budget. It’s almost bizarrely cheap for what you get. It’s a home from home, with the same friendly folk to greet you when you arrive and leave. They will have remembered where you came from and if you shared something of your life they will remember that too. Not that they will ever pry.

Would you therefore wonder that this business has grown from strength to strength and will continue to fill its space with appreciative folk who know where they will stay the next time they visit Cape Town.

That’s how you grow your business. With an honest product, a welcoming smile to your customer and by honouring them by remembering their names and personal details. You make your business human by making your customer human.

Your customer is not just a number, an entry in the income column or a possible irritation because they might have a query. This is a person who is honouring you with their money. Honour them back. It’s their right.
