The king of hustle – Gary Vaynerchuk!

Gary Vaynerchuk’s videos are great entertainment and often bring with them a nugget of advice that is worth taking on board. This particular one is no exception. It’s a message directed at people trying to monetise their blogs. But the principle could be useful to any entrepreneur.

His message is simple. You want business? Go and GET IT! His capitals. In his particular example he reflects on the many e-mails he gets from followers who ask him how they should go about getting more money from their blogs.

Anybody who runs a blog knows how much work is involved. And it would be great to get some form of reward for that hard work. After all a blog is real estate on the web. Advertisers should in fact be flocking to that space. Regrettably they generally don’t fight for space on blogs.

What is Gary’s recommendation? He says hustle for it. With other words, don’t wait around to get asked, go and do the asking yourself. During his video he actually demonstrates an example of how he would approach it, even going the extra bit to make a cold call to a possible advertiser.

It’s great advice. For blog owners it’s easy to run Google ads and earn very small money. The sign-up is done in a few moments. At the same time it is a reflection of all business. Most often the easier something is, the smaller the return.  The more you go out and work the system, the greater your return will be.
